Last week we got to see inside a client looking to do some cabling cleanup. Well, it was in wall….for the most part. This client didn’t have the know how of what to expect on in-wall cabling or how it is supposed to be. So, the contractor did most of the work quickly and did not label every jack. Nor did the contractor terminate the central wiring media box properly. There should be a patch panel terminating the switch side of a cable. On the other side should be a wall plate and data jack in wall. Now, while this may not work in all cases, it is generally a good rule of thumb.
